Seven!!!! We have seven baby lambs now. They are in the paddock until they are strong enough to be put in the big pasture. Sitting and watching them today, I was amazed! The paddock is small so the lambs and the ewes are all mixed together. When it is feeding time, the ewe will call for her lamb and it will just run over to her. The other lambs don’t even look around. They know that the call was not for them. How do they know?!!!! They all sound the same to me!
I couldn’t help but think of New Life Trails, and myself really………I am listening carefully for God’s call upon this ministry each day. Already, God has taken us to many places and given us many experiences. Sometimes, I feel like all the ewes are calling and I don’t know which one is the one! Faithfully, God directs and redirects me when I respond to the wrong call(sometimes through my husband, a friend, a message, His word, or even a song). My heart is to faithfully follow him, but my reception isn’t always clear.
My job is to keep the ear canal clear, so that the call isn’t muffled with the cares and desires of this world, and I can hear my call. Be it as a Mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a teacher, or a servant for my Savior, I want to come running just like those little lambs do to their mother’s call.
Romans 8:4b who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Who and what am I listening to, and responding to?(notice the lamb that hasn’t been called my it’s mom?)
